Scotus: Wetlands

NPR's Nina Totenberg reports on today's arguments before the Supreme Court. The case involves a man who invested in property in Rhode Island more than 40 years ago, knowing that wetlands regulations legally limited what he could build there. Now, after selling off some of the land and unsuccessfully challenging the restrictions on the rest, the man is trying to force the state to pay him millions in compensation. The state says the man, who paid $13,000 for the land, knew from the start about the wetlands building restrictions, and should not make a windfall profit at the taxpayers' expense.
