Aid workers have abandoned northeastern Zaire where they were caring for some 150 thousand refugees. The UN has decided foreign relief staff are not safe even in Kisingani as rebel forces advance on the Zairean military stronghold. NPR's Michael Skoler has been following the events from Nairobi.
