From state senator Jeff Woodburn: Working together is what the North Country does best and in that spirit the key state elected officials (legislators, county commissioners and our executive councilor) from the three northern counties will gather for a half-day of strategic planning. At the conclusion, there will be a reception for community leaders. This will be an excellent opportunity to visit with many of our leaders at one place and at one time. Councilor Ray Burton and Jeff Woodburn invite you to join them and spread the word. The event is sponsored and coordinated by NH Charitable Foundation and NH Listens. The goal of the retreat is to coordinate short-term and long-term policy goals and strategy for our region. MY WAY: A MUSICAL TRIBUTE TO FRANK SINATRA, LINCOLN
Thursday Oct. 3 7:30 PM, Saturday Oct. 5, Sunday Oct. 6 and Weds. Oct. 9 at 2 PM Jean's Playhouse, 10 Papermill Drive. A loving, lyrical homage to the man, his time and his music. The revue, conceived by Todd Olsen and David Grapes, was first performed at Artpark, Lewiston, N.Y. in 1999. Since then, it has become one of the most popular musical revues in the United States, mounted by professional and amateur theatre groups alike. It features a vocal quartet -- two men, two women -- backed by an on-stage jazz trio. The focus is, of course, Sinatra -- his prolific life and career, most particularly the nearly 1,400 songs (57 of them in this production) that 'Ol Blue Eyes recorded.
