Since their formation, Ward Hayden & The Outliers have barnstormed far beyond their Boston hometown, playing honky-tonks, beer joints and more recently concert venues throughout the U.S. Their love for early rock ’n’ roll, true country, raw blues, and pretty much any kind of authentic American music branded them quickly as anomalous — and electrifying. Their new pair of 2025 albums, "Little By Little" and "Piece By Piece," offer a clutch of 16 Bruce Springsteen songs, all interpreted in the inimitable Outliers-style. "I was living and breathing these songs for almost two years," Hayden said. "I didn't want to sing them if I didn't really feel them." All told, the musicianship here is so comfortably tight you could bounce a jukebox quarter off of it – that is, if jukeboxes still took quarters.
