Rindge Outdoor Open Mic Features Tom Horsky

Rindge Outdoor Open Mic Features Tom Horsky

On Saturday, June 28, 1:00 p.m., the Rindge open mic Music at the Museum is outdoors on the lawn of the Rindge Historical Society, 24 School Street, Rindge, NH. This month’s featured performer is the popular guitarist Tom Horsky. A $5.00 donation at the door benefits the Historical Society’s museum. Desserts, light lunch refreshments, and non-alcoholic beverages will be provided. Everyone is welcome. Bring a lawn chair and enjoy the show.

Tom Horsky is a singer and finger-style guitarist who performs throughout New England. Growing up in the Los Angeles 1970s music scene, Horsky developed a modern acoustic guitar sound influenced by various local performers, especially Ry Cooder, Steve Mann, and jazz virtuoso Joe Pass. Today Horsky performs blues originals, as well as country blues, ragtime, and folk classics. He has released four full-length albums, his latest Origins (2018) contains ten original songs and guitar pieces.

Each month the team Ray Siekierski, Karla MacLeod, and Mark Cantrill bring an afternoon of music to Rindge. Sierkierski coordinates the open mic performers and hosts the event. Cantrill provides technical sound engineering. MacLeod, President, Rindge Historical Society, manages all the behind-the-scenes activities from set-up to donations and refreshments.

Musicians, poets, and spoken word artists of all ages are encouraged to take part in the open mic. Anyone interested in performing should email Siekierski at nooniekirk52@gmail.com. Performers are allowed up to ten minutes or two selections, whichever comes first.

Music at the Museum is a monthly event typically held on the last Saturday of the month, March through October, at either the Rindge Meeting House or outdoors at the Rindge Historical Society, depending on the weather. This year an extra February event was held at Cathedral of the Pines. Each month includes a featured musical performance and plenty of local talent to round out the afternoon.

Future Music at the Museum dates are July 26 with Kota, August 30 with Not Dead Yet, September 27 with Rick Ekstrom, and the final 2025 season event on October 25 with a performance by Andrew Lewis. May through September Music at the Museum is held outdoors on the Rindge Historical Society lawn.
