Take in sweeping views of Newfound Lake and the entire Newfound Watershed from the summit of Mount Cardigan. From up high you'll see what a healthy forested watershed looks like, and be able to visualize how the quality of Newfound's forests and streams impact Newfound Lake down below.
This moderate-to-challenging 4+ mile out-and-back hike begins at the Cardigan Mountain State Park parking lot in Orange, NH. The trail includes some steep sections and exposed rock near the top. This free program is open to all; registration required. Please leave pets at home.
