Greenhouse Projects- An Exhibition; Opening Reception
Michelle Peterson, Laura Zorawowicz, Dei Xhrist and Yasamin Safarzadeh joined themselves into a collective to present to the public a body of work one year in the making.
The group of four with a myriad of participating artists use a variety of methods and materials to explore how they relate to the natural world within their respective practices. Meeting throughout the past year at an abandoned greenhouse which is slowly being reclaimed by its surroundings. Each artist brought their diverse creative practices and discussed methodology, materials, and techniques, weaving relationships between each other and one another’s relic making.
Webs, wool, and wood - mostly collected from rural spaces, some from commercial salvage - have been claimed, reworked, sexualized. Old cameras, found film, torn fabric and real bodies in the cool New England autumn air. Explorations of form and texture; linear/organic,
rough/smooth; juxtapositions that carry weight beyond their aesthetics. Greenhouse Projects invite the public to explore the depth of their own relations to materials, imagery and sound.
Join the artists on January 24, 2024 from 6:30-8:30 for an immersive reception. The schedule of events is as follows:
-Introduction to Positive Street Art Space and artists talk
-Orchestral performance by NH Philharmonic personnel manager lead by Nicholas So
