Death Over Drinks: a Die-A-Logue, NOV 17th at The Heart Rose Club, 11 Green St.,Brattleboro, VT

Death Over Drinks: a Die-A-Logue, NOV 17th at The Heart Rose Club, 11 Green St.,Brattleboro, VT

Death-Over-Drinks: a Die-A-Logue is a FREE community event where all are welcome to talk about death, dying and end-of-life. As a society we're kind of rusty talking about the thing we ALL have in common (we ALL will die someday) and often don't know where to go or who is willing to explore topics related to death and dying with us. It's for that reason the Pre-Dead Social Club exists and created opportunities like Death-Over-Drinks so we can take strides at practicing, normalizing and exploring together. And the good news - NO EXPERIENCE NECESSARY!

Death-Over-Drinks is not a grief session, but an occasion to gather and delve into topics that impact each and every one of us as we endeavor to navigate living and dying. We understand talking about death can be tender. We encourage you to show up and participate at your comfort level. We'll meet you where you're at.

Death is an event. Dying is a process...with a fuzzy-at-best timeline.

As a society we are living longer and not necessarily healthier with family scattered about. The vast majority of us will be asked to navigate critical health care decisions in the ever changing landscape of modern medicine at a time when we're the most stressed and feel our worst.

The vast majority of us will take on the role or receive non-paid, family caregiving with little to no understanding of the scope of those responsibilities, how to have meaningful conversations around our care and expand our care team.

So...come curious, lean in and meet others in your community looking to have meaningful conversations on topics that impact our eventual death. Show up solo, bring a friend, your significant other, neighbor or family member. It's a time to hear what others are thinking about and to share perspectives. We'll start with an ice breaker question in small groups and see where that conversation takes us!

Please arrive by 4:45pm, grab a cup of tea or something stronger. We’ll start promptly at 5pm with an ice breaker question and discuss in groups of 5-8 people led by a community facilitator. At 6:15pm we’ll come back together for what we call “last gasps” (insert chuckle) an opportunity to reflect on what story you look forward to sharing that will help “break the ice” after we depart (no pun intended). See you there!

Seating limited - Registration Required.

The MISSION of the Pre-Dead Social Club is to cultivate multi-generational communities interested in having compassionate conversations about death, dying and end-of-life, making it a bit easier, less burdensome, and more tenderhearted long before a life-altering or terminal diagnosis arises.

[ Health Note: If you are feeling under the weather or have had recent contact with anyone with COVID-19 or other highly contagious diseases, please join us another time in consideration for others in attendance. Thank you]
