Is it possible that a bear with a taste for picnic baskets is actually a conservation expert in disguise? Come join the Squam Lakes Association in helping kick off National Park Week! We'll start our program with a "Ranger Briefing" on the National Park Service mission followed by an interactive screening of Yogi Bear. While the movie plays, you’ll get to sketch your favorite plants/animals and use "Ranger Report Cards" to grade Yogi’s outdoor etiquette. We’ll finish by exploring the real-life "Jellystones" found throughout Holderness and the Squam watershed. You'll head home with the knowledge to be a local ranger and a protector of our beautiful natural spaces!

Though this program will be held primarily indoors, wearing warm, comfortable clothing is recommended. Snacks and coloring materials will be provided, but please feel free to bring your own! This program is geared toward children eight years of age and below. Children must be accompanied by an adult.

The focus is to become more comfortable traversing and exploring our beautiful landscape around Squam while socializing with the community.
