Batty for Bats

Batty for Bats
Join the Squam Lakes Association (SLA) on Saturday, October 18th from 5:30-6:30 PM at Chamberlain Reynolds Memorial Forest for a bat filled evening as we celebrate Bat Week. Come learn about bats in our watershed and how you can protect them during the spooky season and year round. If you are new to the bat loving world or are a returning advocate you are welcome to come and learn or share your knowledge on the world's only flying mammal.
We will meet at Chamberlain Reynolds Memorial Forest at the West Fire Road Parking lot. 5:30 PM is about thirty minutes before sunset, so it will be the perfect time to hopefully spot some bats as they leave their roosts. We will walk down to the beach and enjoy the sunset as we talk all about bats, bat houses, and bat conservation in NH. Participants will be provided headlamps for the short walk back to the parking lot. All ages are welcome. Children must be accompanied by adults. Registration is required for this free event.
