5 Things (Plus) To Do This Weekend in New Hampshire

Live music events, art, and Independence Day celebrations are just a few of the New Hampshire happenings this weekend. Here are 5 things to do, plus a little extra.

  1. Live Music: Greensky Bluegrass plays at the Prescott Park Arts Festival in Portsmouth on Friday night, June 29. The performance begins at 7 p.m. 
  2. Norman Stevens Collection: The League of NH Craftsmen opens "Celebrating 85 Years - The Stevens Collection. The free exhibition opens Friday, June 29, and runs to Sept. 21. Visit the gallery at 49 South Main St., Concord. NHCrafts.org.
  3. Get Your Thrills: Trip down or over to Canobie Lake Park in Salem, N.H., for a day at the amusement park. Optional: Ride the Yankee Cannonball, the traditional wooden roller coaster - which was featured in Rick Ganley's recent Radio Field Trip.
  4. Sunday Fireworks in Jackson: There's an Independence Day Celebration with fireworks Sunday, July 1, 9 p.m. The fireworks will be from the Jackson Village Park area. See the Jackson Chamber of Commerce for more information.
  5. Better Together: Music & BBQ: The Acworth Music Fest & BBQ is Saturday, June 30, at the Acworth Village Store. It starts at 11 a.m.
