Today In Congress: GOP Takes On Immigration, Keystone Veto

House Republicans today will consider a Senate proposal to avert a shutdown of the Department of Homeland Security.

Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell agreed to Democrats’ demands and announced legislation that would be stripped of language attacking President Obama’s 2014 executive actions on immigration.

Separately, the Senate is expected to challenge the president’s veto of the bill that would authorize construction of the Keystone XL oil pipeline.

Here & Now’s Jeremy Hobson spoke with Ailsa Chang of NPR for a look at today on Capitol Hill.
