Revisiting Patricia Arquette's 'Boyhood' Journey

Richard Linklater’s fictional movie, “Boyhood,” was filmed over 12 years. Audiences watched the entire cast, including the lead character, Mason, played by Ellar Coltrane, grow up.

But it’s Patricia Arquette who plays Mason’s mother, who’s surrounded by Oscar buzz right now. Arquette stopped by our studios this summer — when the film was released — to speak to Here & Now’s Robin Young about the experience of filming “Boyhood.”
