After a weekend of drama on Capitol Hill, the Senate has delivered a $1.1 trillion spending package to President Obama’s desk to be signed.
For anyone watching the Senate on Saturday, it was political theater of the truest kind: hours of procedural voting, last minute ploys to challenge sections of the bill and infighting in both parties. As well the Senate Report, released last week on torture, continues to make headlines.
Yesterday, on NBC’s Meet the Press, former Vice President Dick Cheney bashed the report, defending the CIA’s tactics, saying he would “do it again in a minute.”
