Ford revealed its new F-150 pickup truck yesterday at its factory in Dearborn, Mich. The newest version of the country’s most popular truck being 700 pounds lighter than previous models.
That’s because Ford has built the truck using aluminum instead of steel, which will help the F-150 meet stricter government fuel efficiency standards.
The company spent heavily to make the changes, putting Ford ahead of its competitors in the industry.
But, the new truck is still untested, leaving people to wonder if the lighter aluminum body will hold up as well as older, heavier models.
CNN’s Maggie Lake spoke with Here & Now‘s Sacha Pfeiffer about the new truck and what this means for Ford.
