The largest space in North America...and one of the largest in the world...dedicated exclusively to contemporary art (works created in the last 50 years) opens to the public today (Tuesday, 7/2). Critics say that while the gallery spaces are restful places in which to view the challenging artworks...the new building itself should have also been a work of Contemporary Art instead of a fortress-like aluminum box.
