Lead Prosectuor Will Remain On Kibby Kidnapping Case

Jim Cole/AP
Nathaniel Kibby appeared in court in Laconia on Nov. 17, 2015 for the first time in months. Kibby is charged with kidnapping and sexually assaulting a 14-year-old Conway girl back in 2014.

A man charged with holding a 14-year-old Conway girl captive for nine months was in court Tuesday in Laconia.

Nathaniel Kibby of Gorham is charged with 205 indictments involving multiple kidnapping and sexual assault counts.

On Tuesday a judge denied the defense’s motion to remove the lead prosecutor from the case. The defense is also trying to suppress evidence they say was illegally confiscated, including Kibby’s laptop, several firearms, and masks the victim alleges Kibby wore when he kidnapped her in October of 2014. The judge will make a decision in the coming weeks.

Kibby is being held on one million dollars cash bail. His trial is scheduled for March.
