Elliot, Southern N.H. Health Host 'Listening Sessions' on Proposed Partnership

elliothospital.org

The public will have a first chance this week to talk face-to-face with leaders of Southern New Hampshire Health and Elliot Health System about their plans to create a new regional hospital system.

The hospitals are hosting the first of two “listening sessions” Wednesday at UNH-Manchester. Another one is planned for August 9 at the Nashua City Auditorium.

Top executives and doctors from both Southern New Hampshire Health and Elliot will be on hand to answer questions people have about their proposed affiliation plans. Board members from both organizations are also expected to be there.

The hospitals first announced plans to affiliate last month. At the time, the hospitals said an affiliation could allow both institutions to share doctors, technology and other resources while still maintaining their own independent management teams.

Those plans are still far from final. First, they need to finalize an agreement on their own, and then they need state and federal approval.

If you can’t make it to the listening sessions but still want to weigh in, you can send questions or feedback to the hospitals on the website for their proposed healthcare system: NHregionalhealthcare.org.
