  • Lorne Matalon is the 2016-2017 Journalism Fellow at the University of Texas at Austin and a Vermont resident. Prior to his fellowship, he was the Texas correspondent for the Fronteras Desk, a collaboration of NPR member stations focused on the Mexico-US border and Latin America. He is currently a contributor to CBC Radio and files regularly for Marketplace.

  • Mike Moen is the Morning Edition producer and serves as a staff reporter for WNIJ. Every morning, he works with Dan Klefstad to bring listeners the latest Illinois news. He also works with the rest of the news staff on developing and producing in-depth stories. Mike is a Minnesota native who likes movies, history, and baseball. When most people hear his last name, they assume he is 100-percent Scandinavian. But, believe it or not, he is mostly German.
  • Zach graduated from the University of Maine, Orono, with a B.A. in New Media/Communications. Since graduation, he has kept very busy with a number of different work experiences, mostly working in the outdoors in conservation projects. Included in his experience are crew member and leader with the California Conservation Corps and the Northwest Youth Corps, respectively, and Assistant Hut Master with Maine Huts and Trails. He also spent several months in France with Wwoof, World Wide Opportunities on Organic Farms. Zach lives in Concord, New Hampshire.
  • Rick has been a member of the WFPL News team since 2001 and has covered numerous beats and events over the years. Most recently he’s been tracking the Indiana General Assembly and the region’s passion for sports, especially college basketball.
