Police Charge Driver in Cornish-Windsor Bridge Accident

Michael Brindley / NHPR

The driver who allegedly struck the Cornish-Windsor Bridge in a hit-and-run accident earlier this month turned himself in Sunday.

New Hampshire State Police said Tymon Teichroeb, 24, of Albandy, OR., turned himself in after an arrest warrant was issued for conduct after an accident. He is scheduled to appear in Claremont District Court on Sept. 17.

Police said a witness at the scene obtained the license on the box truck, which was a rental.

The historic bridge on Route 12a in Cornish was hit twice in less than a month. Its maximum height is 9 feet, 2 inches.

The bridge was first built in 1866, and three earlier versions were destroyed by flooding on the Connecticut River.
