St. Paul’s School in Concord is extending its resources for sexual abuse victims to alumni of its prestigious summer program. NHPR's Lauren Chooljian reports.
Every summer, St. Paul’s hosts its Advanced Studies Program for soon to be high school seniors from across New Hampshire.
And for the most part, the popular program has not been affected by allegations of decades of sex abuse at the boarding school.
But Monday, attorney Peter Hutchins filed a claim on behalf of a summer program student from 1967 who says he was abused by longtime faculty member Jose Ordonez.
Days before that filing, St. Paul’s sent an email to past summer students - saying that anyone who was abused can access a therapy assistance fund and other resources that they recently provided to former full-time students.
Hutchins, the victim’s attorney, says the school should have taken these steps at least 15 years ago
