The Brattleboro Mystery of Edwin Drood with author Eric Stanway
The Brattleboro Mystery of Edwin Drood with author Eric Stanway
When Charles Dickens passed in 1870, the world deeply mourned, having lost one of its greatest authors. A mere three years later, however, his devotees would receive a shock. T. P. James, a printer from Brattleboro, Vermont, claimed to have been in contact with Dickens, and together, they had completed his last unfinished novel, The Mystery of Edwin Drood. The revelation was met with both jubilation and derision. Nobody knew if the Great Man had returned, or if they were victims of a huge hoax. The Man Who Channeled Dickens opens a window on this strange and compelling chapter of New England history.
