Tango, Anyone? Jazz Vocalist Delfina Cheb with Anthony Coleman, piano

Tango, Anyone? Jazz Vocalist Delfina Cheb with Anthony Coleman, piano

Music on Norway Pond is pleased to welcome back Argentinian chanteuse Delfina Cheb on May 5, 2024 in Hancock, this time accompanied by renowned jazz pianist Anthony Coleman.  At 18-years-old she was awarded a scholarship for a double degree in jazz composition and voice performance at Berklee College of Music, where she explored jazz and folkloric music from South America, North America, and the Balkans. She is currently continuing her research on Tango and South American music as a doctoral student at the New England Conservatory. As a performer she has recorded two Tango albums in Argentina with renowned Spanish producer Javier Limon which she presented in Europe and Argentina over the last 4 years. From the Sarajevo Jazz Festival to the Jewish Culture Festival in Krakow, Poland, Anthony Coleman’s musical odyssey has taken him through many cultures and led him to wear many hats as composer, improvising keyboardist, and teacher. As a duo, Coleman and Cheb have been working on repertoire that includes Argentine Tango, Klezmer music, Sephardic music, and jazz.
