New Hampshire Scottish Music Club Spring Concert
New Hampshire Scottish Music Club Spring Concert
Since its founding in 1988, the New Hampshire Scottish Music Club has presented concerts from the rich tradition of Scottish music.
An all-volunteer group, members meet monthly to learn new tunes, as well as the history relating to them. Reels, jigs, marches, strathspeys and waltzes comprise the varied repertoire, with instrumentation including fiddles, woodwinds, guitars, accordions, and piano. Concerts sets are punctuated with entertaining narrative.
Listeners may not be able to keep their feet still during invigorating marches, and then want to close their eyes to float in the serenity of beautiful airs. At the end , the audience is smiling along with the musicians.
