Firelight Theatre's Spring Play: Small Mouth Sounds by Bess Wohl
How do you speak your mind when you can't say a word? Firelight's Spring Play is the inventive, daring comedy by Bess Wohl, Small Mouth Sounds, which had its premiere in New York City in 2015.
The play unfolds at a silent retreat, where six troubled souls have gathered in search of a radically new perspective on life. A vow of silence, however, hardly puts a damper on the human need to communicate. Within the invented and frequently hilarious language of gesture and eye contact—and aided by a healthy dose of guesswork—relationships are born that test each of the characters in unexpected ways.
Small Mouth Sounds opens May 9 and runs through June 7, with performances Thursdays through Saturdays at 7:30 pm and Sundays at 2:00 pm.
Now in its 9th season, Peterborough-based Firelight Theatre Workshop has a mission to create professional, innovative theatre in intimate spaces at an affordable price.
