Climb Historic Pulpit Rock Tower
Come climb the tower and learn its history! Pulpit Rock Tower was built during WWII to assist in the defense of the New Hampshire seacoast, particularly the Portsmouth Naval Shipyard. It is an eight story cylindrical concrete tower- all interior levels will be open to the public for viewing. Visitors may climb the stairs and ladders, learn about the tower’s involvement in WWII and take in the amazing views from the observation windows. Volunteers will be on hand to answer questions and explain further the history and significance of Pulpit Rock Tower. Pulpit Rock Tower is listed on the National Register of Historic Places and was selected as one of the “Seven to Save”, a list of seven endangered historic properties worth saving by the NH Preservation Alliance. Only those in good health and with good mobility should attempt to climb the tower. Minimum height is 42”. Cancelled if raining- check facebook page for any updates.
