Led by the talented instructor Shannon McCracken-Barber, participants can choose between crafting a copper fibula or a stunning pair of copper and sterling silver earrings. Throughout the class, Shannon will guide participants through essential techniques such as work hardening, filing, forging, and, for those opting for beaded designs, beading as well. With an assortment of bead colors and sizes available, attendees can unleash their creativity and personalize their creations to reflect their unique style.

No prior experience is necessary to join this class. Individuals with plier experience will delight in exploring the beaded options, while those new to jewelry-making can start with unbeaded designs and more basic shapes. Shannon's wealth of knowledge and passion for teaching ensures that every participant feels supported and empowered to unleash their creativity.

About the Instructor: Shannon McCracken-Barber brings a wealth of experience and expertise to the class. With a BFA in Metalsmithing and Jewelry from the Maine College of Art, Shannon spent 13 years as a professional artist, showcasing her jewelry and other artworks. Following her passion for teaching, she pursued a Masters of Art Teaching and subsequently taught high school students, where she developed a robust metalsmithing program.

While Shannon's current focus is on developing a biofabrication and regenerative medicine program at UNH, her love for art and teaching remains unwavering. She is thrilled to share her knowledge with new students and continue fostering a passion for creativity.
