Obama Campaigns For Community College And Apprenticeships

President Obama makes his way to Warren, Michigan, just outside of Detroit, on Wednesday to renew a push for free community college and apprenticeship programs.

Accompanied by Jill Biden, the vice president’s wife and a community college professor, the president will speak at Macomb Community College about the $60 billion plan to make community college free for qualified students and a $175 million federal grant program that officials say should result in the hiring of 34,000 apprentices in a variety of fields.

Jake Neher of Here & Now contributor Michigan Public Radio is covering the event and joins host Robin Young with details.
