Student Debt Becomes A Campaign Issue

The economy is always a key issue in presidential elections. But, the question is, whose economy? Many millennial voters are underemployed and being crushed under thousands of dollars of student debt.

Perhaps nowhere is that problem more acute than in New Hampshire. On average, each student carries nearly $33,000 of debt. That’s the biggest student loan debt burden in the country.

Asma Khalid, from Here & Now contributor WBUR, met a young couple with over $150,000 of debt.
