A day after chiding the media for, as he put it, allowing Trump to play them like a violin, it was Jeb Bush who decided to bring up the real estate mogul, during a panel discussion with young professionals.
Bush was asked by a name two historical figures and one celebrity he'd invite to a party. His answer came immediately.
"I would not invite Donald Trump."
Winston Churchill and Neil Armstrong would be welcome at his party, said Bush, but it was a firm no thanks on the celebrities.
"I really don't believe in celebrity. I find it superficial."
Throughout his remarks, Bush cast himself as a candidate who takes the responsibility of being president seriously. Trump, Bush insisted, is not serious. And suggested it would be embarrassing for New Hampshire, if Trump won here.
"New Hampshire takes its first in the nation primary status really seriously, and I don't think they are going to support a person, who in the end is not a truly serious candidate. It kind of damages their brand."
Right now, it's Jeb Bush brand that's on the line.....And poll shows him lagging well behind Trump, who's topped the GOP field here for months. Both will campaign in New Hampshire Thursday night. Bush in Milford; Trump in Portsmouth.
