Executive Council Votes To Eliminate Merrimack Tolls

NHPR / Michael Brindley

The Executive Council voted today to eliminate the tolls at Exit 11 on the Everett Turnpike.

The five-member council voted unanimously to erase the 50-cent toll, which has long frustrated Merrimack residents. Collection will end on January 1st.

The Department of Transportation says the toll closure will cost the state about $800,000 in annual revenue.
