Giles Appointed First Female Rector of St. Paul's School

St. Paul's School in Concord has hired its first female head of school.

Kathleen Carroll Giles has been appointed by the school's board to be its new rector.

Michael Hirschfeld, the former leader, announced this year he was retiring early, after multiple sexual abuse lawsuits were filed against the school.

Giles currently serves as head of Middlesex School in Concord, Massachusetts and will start at St. Paul's next July.

The boarding school recently announced that Amy Richards would lead the school on an interim basis.

Richards is a former St. Paul's math teacher.

I report and produce documentary podcast series for NHPR's Document team. A lot of my reporting is about power, and how it is used (and often abused) at every level of society. Most of my stories begin in New Hampshire, but they explore feelings and experiences that listeners anywhere can connect with.
