Changes Underway At N.H. Colleges To Address Sexual Harassment

www.visitnhcolleges.com

New Hampshire's public colleges and universities are making changes after a recent review highlighted concerns about how they handle sexual harassment and other misconduct.

The University System of New Hampshire last month released investigative reports on the general policies and procedures at its four institutions as well as specific incidents involving misconduct by athletic coaches.

Even before the reports came out, Keene State College implemented mandatory staff and faculty training and hired additional staff with expertise in the federal law that regulates institutions' handling of sexual violence. It also plans to restructure its athletic department.

The University of New Hampshire is redoubling its efforts to communicate reporting responsibilities under the federal law and is creating a task force to look beyond compliance and toward creating a stronger culture of community.
