Tropical and Exotic Asia

Tropical and Exotic Asia

The Walker Lecture Series invites you to
Tropical and Exotic Asia
a travelogue with Marlin Darrah

Wednesday, March 20, 2024
7:30 PM (Doors open at 7:00)
Set sail with the world’s most traveled filmmaker, Marlin Darrah, on a journey to many of Southeast Asia’s most intriguing, alluring and lovely countries. The adventure begins in Hong Kong, then travels south to the exciting back streets of old Hanoi, the dramatic beauty of the ancient karst limestone mountains rising out of Ha Long Bay, the temples and markets of Nha Trang, and to Saigon, the dynamic and bustling city on the great Mekong. Next are highlights of Angkor Wat, the 1000-year-old marvel that is the largest complex of religious temples in the world. Then we travel to the Thai paradise isles of Similan, Ko Phi Phi, Phuket, Phang Nga Bay and to Bangkok, for a look at exotic Thailand, “The Land of Smiles.”
Marlin Darrah will be with us at the City Auditorium for questions and conversation.
