Josa Jazz Concert Series: Cinnamon Blomquist

Josa Jazz Concert Series: Cinnamon Blomquist

JOSA is always on the look-out for new and creative spirits on the jazz scene. For a couple of years now I’ve had the pleasure of working with a local flutist as her guest at nearby coffee houses and intimate clubs. Cinnamon has been a nice surprise, a delight to work with and a talent I thought very worthy of sharing with our appreciative JOSA audience.

Cinnamon Blomquist is a versatile flutist and passionate jazz improviser whose musical journey has taken her around the world, touring nationally and internationally performing instrumental music. A dedicated musician and lifelong student of the art form, she studied at both Oberlin College and the Berklee College of Music, where she deepened her craft and honed her improvisational skills studying privately with jazz luminary, Hal Crook.

In addition to her musical journey, she is an ordained minister and Hospice Chaplain, offering comfort and peace through music to patients in their homes. Her playing—deeply intuitive and heartfelt—serves not just as performance, but as a healing presence.

She also serves as a flutist in the Army Band in Massachusetts, adding military musicianship to her diverse resume. When she’s not in uniform or at a bedside, she is on a “jazz quest” with other passionate musicians across New Hampshire and Massachusetts, continually exploring and expanding the language of jazz.

Please join us for this holiday JOSA debut!
