PRESS RELEASE
THE HOURGLASS READERS in Collaboration with
WRITERS FOR DEMOCRATIC ACTION
Present
IT CAN’T HAPPEN HERE – AGAIN
The Hourglass Readers will present a reading of It Can’t Happen Here – Again, a call to resist the rise of fascism, at The Keene Public Library, Ruth Huntress Auditorium, on Saturday, February 28, at 1 PM. Admission is free and the public is invited. A talkback will be held after the performance, with light refreshments served. There will be only one performance.
The script, written by Wesley Savick, James Carroll and Rachel DeWoskin for Writers for Democratic Action is a nod to It Can’t Happen Here, a 1936 stage adaptation of Sinclair Lewis’s novel of the same name. Over a hundred productions of this free, easily mounted script have been performed in many different venues over the past year.
This production is directed by Catherine Behrens and will feature six talented actors – Wendy Almeida, Mary Armstrong, Michael Auerbach, Damien Licata, Dan Patterson, and Kenzie Wood. Taryn Fisher will lead the talkback after the performance.
