Composer's Conference
BOSCAWEN NH (December 13, 2022) Avaloch Farm Music Institute (AFMI) and The Composers Conference (CC) announce a new collaboration beginning in Summer 2023. As a residential arts center dedicated to fostering community and creativity for early, mid-career and distinguished musicians across the country, Avaloch Farm Music Institute is thrilled to partner with a like-minded institution such as the Composers Conference— an organization that serves as a catalyst for the creation, education, performance, and appreciation of new music.
This symbiotic relationship will allow the Composers Conference to evolve existing programs and expand community ties in the greater New England region. CC Artistic Director Kurt Rohde, CPI Director Margaret Kampmeier, CMW Director Jessica Tong, and Music Director/Conductor Vimbayi Kaziboni will work alongside Avaloch Artistic and Executive Director Ashley Bathgate to re-envision the scope of the core Composers Conference programs (Composer and CPI Fellows, Chamber Music Workshop and Conference Ensemble), while further developing projects that cultivate greater inclusivity, such as the New Music/New Communities Initiative, Davidovsky New Music Conducting Fellowship and Susan Horvath Commission.
By way of this new partnership with Avaloch, the Conference is more than ever able to realize its core mission: to nurture the creation, performance, and appreciation of music, serving as a catalyst for conscientious creativity through shared wisdom, expertise, and diverse artistry.
