Natural objects provide us with opportunities to create drawings, paintings, inks, charcoal and tools to apply simple paints to a variety of natural surfaces. This workshop will allow us to explore the outdoor surroundings of Prescott Farm, collect a variety of natural materials and return to our indoor studio space to create some uniquely original projects. Lawrence (Larry) Frates is presently the Creative Arts Consultant at the Prescott Farm Environmental Education Center in Laconia, New Hampsire. He has spent the past 50 years creating paintings in watercolor, acrylic and oils that represent a clean use of color in a semi-realistic style. His focus is on the representation of his subjects rather than a detailed representation of the images he presents to his viewers.
