As it catapults through the ages, this dynamic slideshow and lecture highlights how and why circus has impacted and inspired visual arts since the start of time. Individual images are accompanied by personal stories, humorous and intriguing facts about each artist and the period they represent. The Presenter, Karen E Gersch, is a celebrated acrobat and clown (founding member of the Big Apple Circus, Circus Smirkus and Friendly Bros. Circus), as well as a fine artist herself.
