UN Climate Summit Pep Rally For Future Negotiations

Today’s U.N. summit on climate change isn’t going to result in any binding agreements. The real purpose of the summit is to mobilize political will for a global treaty at climate negotiations in Paris next year.

But why meet without making any promises?

NPR science correspondent Chris Joyce joins Here & Now’s Jeremy Hobson to discuss the summit today, and whether an international treaty is really possible in the future.
