John Updike: The Shy Man And Great Writer

Two time Pulitzer Prize-winning novelist John Updike died Tuesday of lung cancer. Updike is best known for his series of novels about Rabbitt Angstrom.

Madeleine Brand talks with Updike's friend and colleague Robert Silvers, the long time editor and founder of The New York Review of Books. Silvers says he was one of the most elegant and coolly observant writers of his generation.
