During a four-day visit to New Hampshire, Texas Sen. Ted Cruz pitched a consistent message.
Cruz finished off his trip the same way he started, selling himself as the presidential candidate the establishment fears most.
"Because Cruz actually will stand, with the American people against the career politicians in both parties. "
Speaking to reporters at Saint Anslem College, Cruz also took aim at comments by 1996 GOP nominee Bob Dole. Dole told the New York Times, that "nobody likes" Cruz, but that Donald Trump could probably work with Congress because he's a "deal-maker." Cruz said the message to voters should be clear.
"If you think we need more Republicans in Washington to cut a deal with Harry Reid and Nancy Pelosi and Chuck Schumer, then Donald Trump is your guy; that's what the Washington establishment is saying."
Cruz has been climbing in recent polls.
A WMUR survey released Wednesday showed Cruz in second place in New Hampshire, but still 20 points behind Donald Trump, who has topped every local poll of the GOP field since June.
