Join Miss Xanthi at the Children’s Museum of New Hampshire for this interactive weekly program for children ages 2–4. Designed as a PRE pre-school program for children and a parent or caregiver, we will enjoy art, music, movement, and conceptual learning together! This program is limited to 10 children, and caregivers or adults are welcome to sign up multiple children within their family. Pre-reservation/payment is required and does not include museum admission. Reservations to stay and play in museum exhibits must be made separately. Prices: Child $14 ($11 for Members). On the night of September 19, 1961, Betty and Barney Hill drove through New Hampshire’s White Mountains on their way back to Portsmouth from their honeymoon trip to Niagara Falls and Montreal. On Route 3, near Franconia, they saw a light in the sky.

Their world, and ours, was never the same again.

While the Hills rose to fame due to their tale of alien abduction and subsequent influence on pop culture, the Hills’ impact reaches far beyond the extraordinary events of that night. As Portsmouth residents, civil rights activists, and community leaders, Betty and Barney Hill were part of a powerful and often overlooked chapter in local and national history.

Admission to the exhibition is $10 general admission, $5 discounted admission (children 5-18, seniors over 62, students, and Portsmouth residents), and FREE for members. Tickets are purchased on site.

This juried art show is a fundraiser for Darbster Kitty with a theme of “Pawsitive Energy!” Artwork will be displayed from Thursday, June 4th until Sunday, June 7th at the Darbster Kitty location, 332 Kelley Street in Manchester. The artist reception will be held on Thursday, June 4, 2026, from 5-8PM at 332 Kelley Street. Reception attendees will be able to vote for “Best in Show” choices for both the adult and children’s show.

The submission fee is $25 for up to three pieces of artwork; this is a non-refundable jury fee. All artwork must be sent in a digital JPG format to rmccune@darbster.com no later than May 15, 2026 to allow ample time for jurying. Susanne Larkham, a New Hampshire–based pastel artist will be the juror for this event. Her work has been featured in regional, national, and international juried exhibitions

Appropriate Mediums should be two-dimensional in nature and can be oil, acrylic, watercolor, pen and ink, original prints, pastels, charcoal, pencil, photography and/or mixed medium.

After jurying has been completed, artists will be notified by email if their work was accepted. Artwork must be dropped off at Darbster Kitty, 332 Kelley St in Manchester on Saturday, May 30th and Sunday May 31st between the hours of 10-4pm.

This is a fundraising event. Any sale of artwork will be split, 70/30 with 30% of the sale being paid to and considered a donation to Darbster Rescue.

Additionally, we will have a children’s art show (ages 2-12 years) at the same time. Artwork to be entered into the children’s show will be $5, and should be framed with a hanging wire as well as labeled with name, age, medium, title, and price.

The importance of native pollinators has gained a lot of attention lately. Learn about who they are, why they’re important and how you can attract and support them all year long in your own backyard. This presentation will include an overview of gardening for pollinators whether you’re a new or seasoned gardener. Presented by UNH Extension Master Gardener Stacey Scaccia.

The Demonstration Gardens at NH Audubon’s Massabesic Center provide a place for sharing best practices in eco-friendly home and community gardening, which enhance human health and well-being and wildlife habitat.
