Sail Portsmouth, which presents the Seacoast’s annual tall ships festival each summer, will host its Tall Sips Brewfest on Saturday, May 20 from 3 to 7 p.m. at the Hampton Airfield, 9A Lafayette Road, North Hampton.

In addition to brewers and their beer, the Tall Sips Brewfest will feature live music, games and aircraft on display.

General admission tickets are $35 per adult for unlimited 4-ounce samples from 15 beverage companies from 4 to 7 p.m. VIP admission is $50 per person and gives ticketholders the chance to enter the event early at 3 p.m. for a special VIP Hour to meet and chat with the brewers before the crowds arrive. Tickets for designated drivers are just $5. There is no admission charge for children, but they must be accompanied by a parent or guardian.

Participating breweries are Smuttynose Brewing Co., Great Rhythm Brewing, Guinness Brewing, Lone Pine Brewing, Hobbs Brewing, Earth Eagle Brewing, Corner Point Brewing, Bent Water Brewing Co., Tributary Brewing Co., Baxter Brewing Co., Top Water Brewing Co., and WHYM Brewing Co. The event will also feature cocktails from Island District Cocktail Co. and Day Chaser Canned Cocktails as well as cider from Woodchuck Cider.

Food and soft drinks will be available for purchase. Parking for the event is free and plentiful.

Proceeds from the Tall Sips Brewfest benefit Sail Portsmouth’s Sea Challenge Scholarship Fund. This fund pays the tuition for teenagers in the Seacoast area to attend a weeklong educational program sailing aboard a tall ship. The week is life-changing for students as they experience life at sea. They learn as much about themselves and what they’re capable of as they do about navigation and the ocean environment.
