World Labyrinth Day: "Nature Therapy" at Petals in the Pines
Petals in the Pines will be open on Saturday May 4 from 9am-6pm as a participating site for “World Labyrinth Day.” https://petalsinthepines.com/labyrinths This special day focuses on connecting people of all faiths (or none) to the beauty and peace of labyrinths near where they live. There are less than 40 labyrinths in New Hampshire that can be visited by the public.
Petals in the Pines offers two unique woodland labyrinths. “Love and Grace” is a Medieval-type stone labyrinth high above Hayward Brook (a 3/4-mile round-trip hike), custom designed with separate entrance and exit (so that more than one visitor can walk it at the same time without having to step off the path). The “Peace” labyrinth, located amongst shady hemlocks, offers quiet family-friendly focusing.
Our theme for the day is “Nature Therapy,” to highlight the healing power of quietly spending time in woodlands, gardens, and fields. Special activities offered at Petals in the Pines on May 4 include:
Adults & Kids Yoga sessions with Angelina Moody (limited space: reserve at https://petalsinthepines.com/shop).
Journaling, painting, and poetry-writing opportunities
Finger labyrinths for kids–and a lady bug labyrinth story reading
Mandala-making with natural materials
Meditative Zen Garden sand raking (miniature)
Shopping on the Farm Stand Porch: labyrinth jewelry, bug headnets, Swedish Almond Cakes, local items, etc.
World Labyrinth Day admission: $7 per person (infants are free). No charge if you purchase a 2024 Season Pass.
