What is phubbing? Simple: phone snubbing. It’s that unfortunate moment when someone starts looking at their phone when someone is trying to talk to them. The offender could be a boss or a romantic partner. And, according to a study out from Baylor University, a “phubbing” could be bad news for those relationships.
Almost half of those surveyed said their partner had reached for their phone while they were in the middle of a conversation; 22 percent of those respondents said it resulted in conflict and 36 percent said it made them feel depressed. Employees said phone snubbing can even erode trust in the workplace if the boss is the one doing the phubbing.
