A Virginia police officer who was shot and killed responding to a domestic violence call this weekend is being mourned in her home town of Merrimack.
Ashley Guindon, 28, was killed responding to a domestic violence call Saturday, a day after being sworn into the Prince William Country Police Department.
Two other officers shot in the incident remain hospitalized.
Guindon grew up in Merrimack and graduated from Merrimack High School in 2005.
The flag outside the town’s police department was lowered to half-staff and a moment of silence will be held at the high school Monday.
