Sunset Hike in Whitten Woods

Sunset Hike in Whitten Woods

Join LRCC members Freda and Virginia for a sunset hike! Meet at Whitten Woods trailhead parking lot off of Highland Street in Ashland, NH. We’ll hike the North Peak loop via Main Junction trail, visit the South Peak during sunset, and hike back down. This will be a moderately hard 3-mile hike with moderate steepness. Please bring a headlamp!

Hikers should come prepared with weather-appropriate hiking gear (layers, rain gear, and extra socks/shirts/hats/etc.), headlamps, and plenty of water. Microspikes/snowshoes and trekking poles might be helpful depending on the weather and can be checked out from the Squam Lakes Association gear library if you do not have them. Snacks and hot drinks are welcome, too!

Audience: Anyone who is capable of hiking/snowshoeing approximately 3 miles, potentially in snowy and/or icy conditions. Children must be accompanied by an adult.

To register for this free Guided Hike, head to Squamlakes.org/calendar, or call the office at 603-968-7336.
