Art Outdoors: An Afternoon Painting from Nature

Art Outdoors: An Afternoon Painting from Nature

Join us for a relaxing afternoon of making art inspired by the outdoors. Learn about creating art en plein air, a style of Impressionist art which literally means creating art outside. We will be spending a relaxing afternoon putting the beauty of the Squam watershed onto paper or canvas through painting or whatever artistic medium you prefer. Participants are encouraged to bring their own art supplies, though we will also be providing some acrylic and watercolor paints as well as pastels in addition to paper, canvases, and pencils. Be prepared to spend a few hours outside so bring a hat and wear sunscreen! Light refreshments will be provided.

What to Bring: While basic supplies are provided, participants are encouraged to bring their own supplies if you have them! Please wear clothes you’re not afraid to stain if you are painting. A hat and other forms of sun protection are encouraged as well.
