An Evening of Brilliant Piano Trios: Beethoven & Schubert

An Evening of Brilliant Piano Trios: Beethoven & Schubert

Book your tickets for a brilliant program of Beethoven’s Ghost Piano Trio and Schubert’s epic Piano Trio No.1 in B-flat.

Beethoven's Piano Trio in D major, "Ghost" is one of his best-known works and is notable for its unique and eerie slow movement. Scholar Lewis Lockwood has said of the "Ghost" Trio: "(it) raises the genre to a level from which the later piano trio literature could move forward." By the end of Beethoven's second period, he was conceiving chamber music on an even more symphonic scale.

Schubert's Piano Trio No. 1 in B-flat major, Op. 99, is a masterpiece of intimate chamber music, often praised for its lively, buoyant character and unrivaled lyricism. It's a large-scale work that feels surprisingly personal.

This month, we will be joined by superstar-cellist Nina Lee. Nina is a member of the Brentano Quartet and is one of the few classical musicians to have played herself in a major Hollywood movie!

We would be honored to have you join us for this incredible program, especially as the Sunday concert falls on Mother’s Day.
